Description

SBBN is seeking proposals from qualified accounting professionals or firms to provide comprehensive bookkeeping and accounting services. The purpose of this RFP is to select a primary service provider to support the organization’s ongoing financial operations, including bookkeeping, reporting, compliance, and advisory services.

The successful proponent will enter into a service agreement for a defined term and will be responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial management.

Scope of Services

  • Day-to-day bookkeeping and general ledger maintenance
  • Accounts payable and accounts receivable processing
  • Bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
  • Budget tracking and variance reporting
  • Payroll processing (if applicable)
  • Year-end audit preparation support
  • Financial advisory support to management and board

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping and/or accounting services
  • Experience with nonprofits or small-to-medium organizations (preferred)
  • Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, Xero)
  • Knowledge of Canadian accounting standards
  • Strong attention to detail and confidentiality
  • CPA designation is an asset but not mandatory

Position Summary

The Program Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering SBBN’s five flagship business development programs. This role ensures high-quality program implementation, meaningful community engagement, and measurable outcomes advancing economic empowerment for Black entrepreneurs.

This is a full-time, five-year funded position (annual renewable contract) with a competitive salary.

Work Details

SBBN's Role

SBBN will retain ownership of the mentorship program, participant relationships, recruitment activities, strategic alignment, and overall program oversight.

The selected provider will collaborate with SBBN leadership to support program design, facilitation, mentorship methodology, tools, reporting, and evaluation.
